How to use it
- Pick your agent: Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. The prompt is the same; the install line under it changes.
- Pick a playbook for the kind of video, like a SaaS launch video or an explainer, then a look from the styles. Styles made for the playbook are listed first.
- Add your topic, and a length, aspect ratio or video tool if you want something other than the playbook's default.
- Copy the prompt. If FrameJam isn't installed yet, paste the install line into your agent first and restart it once.
- Paste the prompt. Your agent asks for anything missing, builds the video and opens it in FrameJam, where you comment on exact frames until it's right.
An example prompt
Picking Show & Tell Short with the Paper Marker style, a topic and 45 seconds gives:
Make a video with the FrameJam playbook "Show & Tell Short" (id: talking-head-short) in the style "Paper Marker" (id: paper-marker). Call get_playbook with id "talking-head-short" and styleId "paper-marker" and follow it.
My video: how I plan my week in 10 minutes with a paper notebook, for YouTube Shorts
Length: about 45 seconds.
If any of these are missing, ask me before you start: Your raw recording of you talking to camera; Optional: screen recordings, images or clips of what you talk about; Optional: where it will be posted and how long it should be.
Render each version and open it in FrameJam for review. The last lines come from the playbook itself: what it asks you to bring. That way the agent asks for your raw recording up front instead of guessing. To check the finished short against the YouTube, TikTok and Reels interface, drop a frame into the YouTube Shorts safe zone checker.
Why a playbook and a style beat a long prompt
A long hand-written prompt describes one video. A playbook is the whole method for that kind of video: the steps, the tools, the timing and the checks the agent runs before it shows you anything. A style is a full look in style.json: palette, fonts, easing and pacing. Naming both gives the agent far more to work with than any paragraph you could write, and keeps the prompt short.

Playbooks to use it with
A playbook is FrameJam's method for one kind of video. Your agent follows it in whichever tool your project uses.
- make a SaaS launch video with AIProduct Launch: Your product goes in, a polished launch video with the real app on screen comes out.
- make a narrated explainer video with AIExplainer: A topic, article or script goes in, a narrated animated explainer comes out.
- make a 15-second launch teaser video with AILaunch Teaser: A name, one promise and a few real clips go in, a 15-second teaser that lands the name on the beat comes out.
- make YouTube Shorts with AI from talking-head clipsShow & Tell Short: Raw talking-head clips go in, a tight vertical short that shows what you talk about while you say it comes out.
- make a motion design showreel with AIMotion Design Showreel: Give it your logo and a few things to show off, get a short motion piece cut to the beat.
- make an animated timeline video with AITimeline: Dates and milestones go in, a fast story told one milestone at a time comes out.
Questions
What is an AI video prompt generator?
A tool that writes the prompt for you. This one turns a playbook (what you're making), a style (how it looks), your topic, length and aspect ratio into one prompt your coding agent can follow from start to finish.
Which agents does the prompt work with?
Claude Code (or the Code tab in the Claude desktop app), Cursor, and Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app. The prompt calls FrameJam's tools, so the agent needs the free FrameJam plugin installed first.
Does it work without FrameJam?
Not as written. The prompt asks the agent to load a FrameJam playbook and style and to open each render in FrameJam for review. Without the plugin the agent can't find them. Installing takes one pasted line and is free.
Is the generator free? Does it use AI?
It's free and needs no sign-in. It doesn't call an AI model: it fills in the prompt in your browser from the playbook and style data on this site, so nothing you type is sent anywhere. The video is made by your own agent.
Will the agent use Remotion or Hyperframes?
Whatever you pick under Video tool. With Agent picks, it keeps the tool your project already uses, and new projects get the playbook's default, often Hyperframes. FrameJam works with both and with ffmpeg, Motion Canvas and screen recordings.
Can I change the prompt after copying it?
Yes. It's plain text. Add details like your website, brand colors or where your screenshots are, and the agent picks them up. Anything you ask for wins over the playbook's defaults.
