Make and review videos in Cursor

Cursor's agent can build a video the same way it builds a web page. With the FrameJam plugin, the video opens in Cursor's browser next to the chat, and your comments on exact frames go straight back to the agent.

Facts about other tools are from their official docs and websites, as of Oct 2026. Each one links to its source, and all of them are listed under Sources.

What Cursor gives FrameJam

Cursor supports plugins, which package rules, skills, agents, commands, MCP servers and hooks, and MCP servers. Its browser opens as a pane inside Cursor, and the agent can control it. FrameJam uses all three: the plugin brings the skill and the MCP server, and the review page opens in the browser pane beside the chat.

Install FrameJam in Cursor

Open the agent chat and paste:

Run `npx -y framejam install cursor` and open the link it prints in your built-in browser.

Then reload the window (⌘⇧P → Reload Window) so the plugin loads, and type /framejam:start. If you already have FrameJam in Claude Code, Cursor loads it from there. Doing it by hand? Copy the plugin folder to ~/.cursor/plugins/local/framejam; the install docs have the details.

Make a video in Cursor

  1. Type /framejam:playbook to pick a playbook on a page, or name one in your request.
  2. The agent builds the video in your project's tool, or Hyperframes for a new project, and renders it.
  3. FrameJam opens in the browser pane. Comment on a moment, a spot or a range, then press Finish review.
  4. The agent reads every comment with its frame image and renders the next version.
Make a music video for this business: https://example.com, with the FrameJam playbook "Kinetic Music Video". Pull the material from the website yourself, and start with a storyboard.

The last part of the Claude video guide runs this exact prompt in Cursor: it writes the song, shows a storyboard for comments, then animates the full video. Other good first projects are animated timeline videos and 15-second launch teasers. Prefer ChatGPT? See ChatGPT video editing.

Playbooks that work with Cursor

A playbook is FrameJam's method for one kind of video. Your agent follows it in whichever tool the project uses.

Questions

Can Cursor make videos?

Yes. Cursor's agent writes code and runs commands, and a video is code plus a render command: Hyperframes, Remotion, Motion Canvas or ffmpeg. FrameJam adds styles, playbooks and the review page.

Where does FrameJam open in Cursor?

In Cursor's built-in browser, in a pane beside the chat. The agent opens it there itself, so you can watch the video and comment without leaving Cursor.

I already installed FrameJam in Claude Code. Do I need to install it again?

No. Cursor also loads plugins you installed in Claude Code, so FrameJam is already there.

Which model should I use?

Any strong coding model in Cursor works. Video edits are mostly code, so the model you'd trust with a front-end change will do well here.

Does it cost anything?

FrameJam is free and open source. The agent runs on your Cursor plan, and some playbooks can use paid services, like an image or music generator; each playbook page says which.
