Comparison
HeyGen alternatives for product demo and launch videos
HeyGen makes videos with AI avatars: a digital presenter reads your script. For a product demo or a launch, there's another route: motion graphics your agent builds from your real product, with your real screens. Here's how the options compare.
Facts about other tools are from their official docs and websites, as of Oct 2026. Each one links to its source, and all of them are listed under Sources.
What HeyGen does
HeyGen creates "AI Videos with Your Personal Avatar". It offers avatars (its newest model is Avatar V), video translation with lip sync into 175+ languages and dialects, and a Video Agent that goes from one prompt to a finished video, with APIs for each. It's strong when you need a presenter on screen without filming one.
Pricing: a free plan with 3 videos a month up to 1 minute each, with a HeyGen watermark; Creator at $29 a month ($24 a month billed annually) with 600 credits; Pro from $49 a month for 1,000 credits, with larger credit tiers up to $4,300 a month; Business at $149 a month plus $20 per extra seat; and Enterprise on request.
Alternatives, by what you need
Another avatar tool: Synthesia
Synthesia is an "AI Video and Avatar platform for business", with avatars and voiceovers in 140+ languages, dubbing and an API. It has a free Basic plan whose videos carry a Synthesia watermark; paid plans are on its pricing page.
A clickable demo: Arcade
Arcade makes interactive product demos, with hotspots and branching, and now also has a video agent for product stories. Its free plan allows 1 published demo and 1 published video; Growth is $50 a month per seat, or $42.50 billed yearly.
Motion graphics from your product: your agent and FrameJam
A coding agent like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can build the launch video itself, as code, from your real screens, recordings and facts. FrameJam gives it a method and a look to follow, and gives you the review: you click the frame that's off and say what to change. There's no avatar; the product is on screen the whole time, or you are, from your own recording. The guide to making videos with Claude includes a product launch video made this way.
| HeyGen | Your agent and FrameJam | |
|---|---|---|
| On screen | An AI avatar reading your script | Your product's real screens, animated; or you, from your recording |
| Languages | Translation with lip sync, 175+ languages and dialects | Whatever you write or record |
| Cost | A free plan, then from $24 a month billed annually | FrameJam is free; the agent runs on your existing plan |

Playbooks for demos and launches
Product Launch plans the frames on a music beat from your real screens and facts. Founder Launch cuts your own to-camera take together with screen recordings, if you'd rather be the face than an avatar. Launch Teaser makes the 15-second version, and How-to turns a process into a step-by-step demo.
Make a 30-second launch video for our new feature with the FrameJam playbook "Product Launch". Use the screenshots in ./screens and the facts in ./launch.md, render v1 and open it in FrameJam for review.Looking at other paid tools too? See alternatives to paid AI video editors. Playbooks to start from
A playbook is FrameJam's method for one kind of video. Your agent follows it in whichever tool the project uses.
- make a SaaS launch video with AIProduct Launch: Your product goes in, a polished launch video with the real app on screen comes out.
- make a founder launch video for X with AIFounder Launch: A founder talking to camera and screen recordings go in, a tight launch video for X comes out.
- make a 15-second launch teaser video with AILaunch Teaser: A name, one promise and a few real clips go in, a 15-second teaser that lands the name on the beat comes out.
- make a step-by-step how-to video with AIHow-to: A process goes in, a short step-by-step video that's clear even with the sound off comes out.
Questions
Does FrameJam make AI avatars?
No. FrameJam doesn't generate presenters, voices or lip sync. Its launch playbooks build motion graphics from your real product, or edit a recording of you. If you need an on-screen presenter you don't film, an avatar tool like HeyGen or Synthesia is the right choice.
What does HeyGen cost?
As of Oct 2026, HeyGen's pricing page lists a free plan with 3 videos a month up to 1 minute each, Creator at $29 a month ($24 a month billed annually), Pro from $49 a month and Business at $149 a month, plus Enterprise on request. Free videos carry a HeyGen watermark.
Is a motion graphics launch video better than an avatar video?
For a product launch it often is, because viewers see the real product instead of a person describing it. Avatars are better when you need a talking presenter in many languages.
Can I combine the two?
Yes. FrameJam reviews any video file, so you can drop an avatar clip into a launch video your agent builds and review the whole thing in one place.
Is FrameJam free?
Yes, FrameJam is free and MIT-licensed. Your agent runs on your Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor plan, and some playbooks can use optional paid services like a music generator; each playbook page says which.
