Pop Zine

Y2K riso zine: hot-pink punch words, halftone navy, sunbursts, a rolling counter and hard cuts.

16:9Fast pace8sloudplayfuleditorial

Loud, printed-paper style for podcasts, explainers and launch-day countdowns. Cream grainy paper and dusty navy halftone panels, huge condensed hot-pink words with a navy outline, a spinning pink-and-cream sunburst, a mechanical LCD digit counter, a dotted chart that draws, and persistent HUD cards (a P(SUCCESS) percentage chip and a LIVE date stamp) that update on every hard cut.

Six hard-cut scenes in 8s. Each cut = new background, one punch phrase or one graphic (disc, counter, chart), a new caption, and an updated percentage/date. Something rotates or rolls in every shot.

Transitions and text

  • hard cuts only, every 1.2–1.6s, alternating cream paper / navy halftone / pink sunburst
  • persistent chip and LIVE stamp stay on top and update their value on each cut with a scale pop
  • punch words: scale 1.3 + rotation -4° → rest in 0.3s expo.out, 0.1–0.18s stagger per word
  • caption pill rises 40px in 0.22s right after the cut
  • counter digits roll on vertical strips, each stopping 0.22s after the previous one
  • OUT NOW stamp slams from scale 1.8 with power4.in

Style guide your agent follows

  1. Alternate three grounds on hard cuts: cream paper #efe6d2, navy #34417a with a 9px halftone dot pattern and soft mottling, and a slowly rotating repeating-conic sunburst (#ff6fae / #f3e7d0, 9° rays). Lay a multiply feTurbulence grain over everything (~30%).
  2. Punch words are Anton all caps, 150–340px, #ff4f9a with a 4px #2e3a6b outline (8 text-shadows) plus a 12px hard navy offset. One to three words per scene, each word punching in from scale 1.3 / -4°.
  3. Keep two HUD cards on top the whole time: a cream 'P(SUCCESS)' chip top-left with an #f0582a Anton percentage that climbs each scene, and a 'LIVE' stamp top-right with a ticking clock and a date that changes per cut. Cards are cream #f3ead6 with a 3px navy border, a hard 7px shadow and a 1–2° tilt.
  4. Captions live in a #232b52 pill bottom-left (Space Grotesk 600, 46px, cream), first word underlined in pink. One short sentence per scene.
  5. Data moments are physical: a mechanical LCD counter (pink header bar, navy screen, cream Silkscreen digit windows that roll and stop left to right) or a dotted line chart (stroke-dasharray '0 28', round caps) revealed by a mask wipe with pink points popping.
  6. Finish on a sunburst end card with the show title, a navy episode pill and a red rubber-stamp 'OUT NOW'. No fades, no gradients on type, no characters or photos.
