Parchment Epic
Aged parchment, engraved line drawings that etch themselves, and wide-tracked serif headlines under sunburst rays.
Documentary-explainer style for histories, origin stories and big-idea narratives. Warm parchment with a vignette and grain, thin dark-brown engravings (clock faces, rose windows, arcades, compass geometry) that draw themselves stroke by stroke, Cinzel all-caps headlines with one deep-red accent word, radiating sunburst rays behind the hero, HUD-style corner metadata with an era counter and a red progress rule, and a dark opening scene with a golden glowing title.

Four plates: cold open, hero engraving, date counter, title card. Each plate spends its first second drawing, then holds while hands, rays or counters keep moving slowly.
Transitions and text
- hard cut between parchment plates; each plate redraws from blank
- dark-to-parchment cut after the glowing cold open
- HUD frame and red progress rule persist across every parchment plate
- headline rises 26px while tracking tightens 0.16em → 0.08em, 0.9s power3.out, 0.22s line stagger
- glow title resolves from blur(14px) and scale 1.08
- big year counter ticks between dates with power2.inOut
- kicker and italic captions fade up 10px
Style guide your agent follows
- Parchment is a radial gradient #eee3c8 → #e2d1ad → #c9b28a with a brown vignette and an feTurbulence grain layer (multiply, ~0.3 opacity). Cold opens are #140d06 with a gold #f6d38a title and stacked orange text-shadows.
- Headlines: Cinzel 700 uppercase, 74–150px, tracking 0.08em, one short line in ink #2a1d12 plus one accent word in red #a3221b. Rise 26px while tracking tightens, 0.9s power3.out.
- Illustrations are inline SVG engravings in #3b2a1a, 1.2–2.4px strokes with pathLength=1; draw rings first, then detail, with power2.inOut over 0.9–1.6s and small staggers. Fill colour (red/blue) only after the strokes finish, at ~0.8 opacity.
- Put a 96-ray sunburst (#6b4a26 at 0.13 opacity) behind the hero and rotate it linearly a few degrees per plate; keep hands, counters or rays moving so nothing is static.
- Keep a HUD frame on every parchment plate: 30px corner brackets 40px in, IBM Plex Mono labels (chapter top-left, series top-right, era bottom-left, plate bottom-right) and a 640px red progress rule that fills linearly across the piece.
- Use one big red Cinzel year (≈400px) that ticks between dates while an engraving draws over it. Avoid modern sans type, pure white and saturated colour beyond the single red.
